Social advertizing in Russia makes Russians better
Social promotion is not so popular in former Soviet Union as it may seem. Even many years ago social advertising took essencial place in usual life. All Russians who lived in those years remember social booklets and video spots where ideas of liability were declared. The following texts were so much popular: “Save the nature, it’s our mpther”, “Matches are not toys for children” etc. All those social advertisments were supported by SU government and created by governmental institutions. At the moment everything has changed and we may find lots various social advertising which is sponsored by official government, non-commercial organizations and private persons. Much money is spent every year on various social campaigns which are supported by popular media campaigns with video spots, social posters, logos etc.
A great deal of international organizations work on the territory of former Soviet Union and a great deal of social ads from all over the world are available at the moment in Russian Federation. I am sure that it is really importans as we have a unique opportunity to use best Ameriacan experience in the sphere of social advertising as our own traditions in this area are very weak but we have lots of ideas and creative people who can make all them visible. That’s why various competitions of social advertising are so popular nowadays in former Soviet Union and many professional promotion firms took an active part in such kind of competitions and if you enter tube sites you can look for lots of social spots created by the leading local organizations but usually the visualization of social ideas leaves much to be desired. Still there are quite a lot of interesting social movies on tobacco addiction and other issues. But certainly, we should always remember about the current situation in Russian Federation and the main difficulties which the government has to solve. One of such problems is demographic decrease as too many people die in Russian Federation and they know that they should force people to give more births. As an example of social advertizing which concentrated on demographic difficulties we can state on social posters which were placed in Moscow subway with a lady with three boys on her knees. This post gives more questions rather than gives replys as there is no man on this poster and the lady looks not very happy.
I think that social promotion in Russia just starts its way and in the nearest future we will see lots of great examples of television spots and social posters as well as complicated social campaigns.
